Subject: Town 2011 annual report

Hello All,

Attached is the 2011 Town annual report. It is without notes and it has been submitted. I don't know whether it has now been accepted by the Comptroller.

Ross and I are working up budget comparisons for Village/Town.  Jean has not done and says she will not do the budget codes outline as promised. In fact she said yesterday in an email to Dave etc. that she prefers the infrastructure committee and not Finance.

Ira I don't know whether you know - according to the Comptroller as of 2010 the Town has 74 full-time employees, 42 part-time, and 51 seasonal workers. I don't know how many retirees are receiving benefits and how much $ from either the Town or Village.

Dave says we are meeting the 10th. Ross will represent us as I will be in Maine until the 11th.

Dave can you send all of us the comparison code outline we compiled listing what is to be kept and merged, omitted, or kept because there is no overlap.

Thanks! Happy Labor Day--fitting I think.

Sally

Hi Jean,

How are you progressing on the funds/code sheets for our merged budget?

As you know the 2011 year end annual financial report is out and Ross and I are working at aligning all fund figures so they can be examined and merged to a consolidated budget.

If you have any of the budget code done we would love to receive any and all parts ASP.

Please let us know  so we don't duplicate efforts.

Thanks.

Sally and Ross

Hi Susan,

Ross and I still have not received the 2011 annual financial report from you. We are planning on meeting tomorrow to work on a real merged budget for public consideration. This really is, in our opinion, the priority item for selling consolidation along with a very focused and well thought out education program.

As I said in the car trip to Albany, and I will say again, the whole middle school issue is a red herring and it is putting the cart before the horse. There have already been two very negative votes regarding the idea of expending more money on building renovation and land purchase. Please don't think people don't remember or because the Town Board is not the school board you are more credible. I am afraid the prematurity of a government center at the middle school could defeat any vote on merging and is already allying the anti merger people with the fiscally conservative.

I am not saying the idea is a bad one, but it is clearly out of any logical order in getting consolidation accomplished. We need to stay focused.

When KT and Mike Sweigart are aligned it is time to rethink.
